#A TO Z MOVIES STARTS WITH T MOVIE#
And let’s be honest- if you’re going to voluntarily be watching an apocalyptic movie about the walking dead eating the flesh of the living and turning more humans into zombies, you expect to be scared or made at least at one point to turn the movie/TV show/whatever off, because you need a break. Some movies can get away with a low rating, and still make it incredibly intense, suspenseful and scary. And the PG13 rating allowed for nothing actually scary to ever happen. And that’s exactly what I wanted throughout this film. Its sign of a bad story, when you want everyone you’re supposed to like, dislike, background characters, etc, to die. The plot- It was just as cliché as the dialogue, and characters. Fighting for revenge! Instead, he makes sure that scarf never leaves his neck his hair is perfectly conditioned, and moans about having to try and save the world from zombies the entire time. If the family had died, then at least Brad’s character would have been a victim.
Edge of the couch suspense, when during a zombie apocalypse, you have to deal with the main character saving his daughter from the run away shopping trolley. The family- Why does Hollywood have this insane boner for giving main characters the world’s most annoying family to protect in action/thriller movies? Why are we supposed to care about those effing annoying kids? I laughed out loud when one of the girls is crying in a shopping trolley being rolled around a looted store. At least he's going to have a better chance of keeping me alive, and killing the zombies. If a zombie apocalypse broke out, and I had the option to save Brad Pitt’s character, or a redneck that spends all day killing animals in the woods with guns and pointed sticks, I’m going to recommend the red neck gets saved. You had to be saved? The UN and Military desperately needed him of all other people to be saved? Why? Cause he used to work for the UN? Way to go Rambo.

The main character- Oh Brad Pitt, you hero among men. That would be way more entertaining than the movie I just watched!
#A TO Z MOVIES STARTS WITH T HOW TO#
They shouldn’t be bothered looking for a cure, they should look for how to extract this super gene then go fight the zombies hand to hand. And then there’s Brad Pitt who gets zombie blood in his mouth and nothing happens to him- how the hell did that get past the editing room? Furthermore, they can sense if you’re sick just from looking at you, and they become stronger, faster and more mobile. No time to take that psychological journey with the characters. Do you kill yourself? Can you kill yourself? In this movie- oh well- instantly turned. You have to spend hours knowing you’re going to become one of them after you’re bit. Normal zombie transformations are scary because it’s slow. And 12 seconds to turn? WTF? That’s so unbelievable it took me out of the story every time you see it happen. This movie has them chattering their teeth like heroine addicts- it was hilarious. Did your love one get bit? What do you do? You have until they die through an infection (which takes hours, if not days) and reanimate to decide whether to kill them, try to keep them locked up in the hope of a cure, etc. They’re slow, could be anywhere, making a world incredibly suspenseful and psychological.

They are the definition of ‘you can run but you can’t hide’. The zombies- what I like about zombies are they’re relentless. But now I wanted more zombie suspense, so World War Z, the movie seemed like the best option available. My friend kept insisting I read the book, but I always refused- at the time, I hated zombies and I couldn’t imagine forcing myself to read about something that makes me feel disturbed.

So when World War Z was available to watch, I took it as a chance to see if my new found like for zombies extended outside of Walking Dead. Walking Dead gave it to me (bar season 2) As a result, I reassessed my dislike for the zombie genre. I wanted action, suspense, drama, all that jazz. I hate zombies, and the entire horror genre. But I have to get my frustration at this movie out of my head.Ībout a month ago I sat down to watch The Walking Dead. I expect to be hated on and told I can’t think I have an opinion worth having because all I know about the genre is the Walking Dead (see below). Even more so to discover that the movie was liked more than disliked.Īs a result, I have to give my review. After I watched this movie, I came onto reddit hopping to read similar dislike for this movie.
